Job Description

As a PLC Safety Engineer at Movu, you’ll play a key role in developing and validating the control and safety systems that drive our automated warehouse solutions. You’ll work hands-on with Beckhoff TwinCAT, Beckhoff TwinSafe, and Siemens TIA Portal, ensuring that every automation system we deliver meets the highest standards of performance, safety, and compliance.

Working closely with product line Technical Leads and cross-functional engineering teams, you’ll contribute directly to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Movu’s automation platforms.

  • Design, implement, and test PLC control logic using Beckhoff TwinCAT and Siemens TIA Portal.

  • Develop and validate safety logic in Beckhoff TwinSafe and Siemens TIA Portal, ensuring full compliance with Movu’s Safety Requirements Specification (SRS) and applicable safety standards.

  • Collaborate with Technical Leads across Movu’s warehouse automation product lines to deliver robust, reliable, and safe automation solutions.

  • Integrate your work into Movu’s release pipeline and follow established development and version control practices.

  • Participate in system validation and verification before deployment, including functional and safety testing.

  • Document and maintain system interfaces for both internal components and external integration projects.

  • Build and maintain productive relationships with interface stakeholders across engineering, software, and integration teams.

  • Contribute to system architecture and design discussions, providing expertise in PLC programming and functional safety.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in PLC programming with Beckhoff TwinCAT and Siemens TIA Portal.

  • Understanding of functional safety standards such as ISO 13849, IEC 62061, or IEC 61508.

  • Hands-on experience implementing safety PLC systems (Beckhoff TwinSafe or Siemens Safety PLCs).

  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

  • A collaborative, solution-oriented mindset with attention to detail.

  • Experience in warehouse automation, material handling, or industrial automation is highly desirable.
