About this Job
Your Role
We’re hiring Robotics Remote Operations Specialists to be mission control for our autonomous greenhouse deployments. You’ll keep robots, sensors, cameras, and system workflows running smoothly across multiple greenhouse sites worldwide, detecting issues early, intervening when autonomy needs help, and coordinating fast resolution when something breaks.
What You'll Do
Run real-time situational awareness across global sites
You’ll monitor live operational signals—camera views, sensor readings, fleet dashboards, and system logs—to understand what “healthy” looks like at each site. You’ll spot anomalies early, catch small deviations before they cascade, and keep autonomous operations stable across shifting real-world conditions.
Intervene and operate robots remotely when autonomy needs help
You’ll take remote control when robots hit edge cases, ambiguous environments, or recovery scenarios the system can’t resolve alone. You’ll guide robots through safe repositioning, task recovery, and continuity actions—keeping operations moving while preserving safety and system integrity.
Triage issues with a systems-debugging mindset
You’ll diagnose whether an incident is likely mechanical, software, environmental, or operational—then act accordingly. You’ll narrow down root causes quickly, pull the right evidence (logs, timestamps, video), and create crisp problem statements that accelerate fixes.
Escalate to the right teams with high-quality context
You’ll coordinate with engineering, field teams, and operations across time zones to resolve incidents fast. You’ll hand off issues with structured notes, clear severity, reproduction clues, and supporting artifacts so people can act without guesswork.
Capture edge cases to improve autonomy over time
You’ll document the strange, rare, and important: unexpected behaviors, near-misses, failure modes, and intervention patterns. You’ll turn real-world events into learning loops—sharing annotated clips, screenshots, and incident summaries that directly improve product and autonomy.
Support rollouts of new features and system updates
You’ll monitor new deployments and updates as they hit production, watching for regressions and unexpected behaviors in real greenhouse conditions. You’ll provide real-time feedback on what changed, what broke, and what’s working—so releases become safer and faster.
Improve playbooks, response protocols, and shift handoffs
You’ll turn lived experience into scalable operations: troubleshooting check flows, escalation paths, and clear “when to intervene vs. wait” rules. You’ll keep handoffs between shifts tight—sharing active risks, system states, and what to watch next to maintain 24/7 continuity.
Who You Are
Core requirements
- 0–3 years of experience in operations, monitoring, system operations, or similar roles where uptime and fast response matter
- Comfort with technical systems and a debugging mindset: logs, dashboards, evidence gathering, and structured problem-solving
- Strong visual/spatial awareness and attention to detail—you can notice what’s “off” quickly and explain it clearly
- Ability to stay focused during monitoring while responding fast when the situation changes
- Calm under pressure and good decision-making in uncertain, time-sensitive scenarios
- Strong written communication for incident notes, escalation context, and shift handoffs
- Systems thinking: you naturally think in dependencies, failure modes, and second-order effects
- Comfort with shift work / non-standard hours as part of maintaining 24/7 global operations
Bonus points if you have
- Experience with robotics, autonomous systems, industrial operations, or safety-critical environments
- Familiarity with NOC/SOC-style monitoring, alerting systems, incident response, or on-call rotations
- Experience with camera feeds, sensor systems, telemetry, or remote operation tools
- Mechanical troubleshooting instincts (you can reason about physical systems from symptoms)
- Background in agriculture, manufacturing, logistics, or production environments where downtime is expensive
- Experience working across time zones and distributed teams with tight operational handoffs
What We Offer
Real ownership: You’ll be the human intelligence layer that keeps autonomous greenhouse operations running—your calls directly affect uptime and production.
Build from scratch (with support): You’ll help shape how mission control works: playbooks, incident response, escalation rules, and the operating rhythm of 24/7 autonomy.
Front-row seat to real autonomy: You’ll operate cutting-edge robots in live production and watch the system evolve—partly because of what you observe and report.
Global team: Work closely with a tight team across our Cologne HQ and Bengaluru office, plus remote teammates supporting deployments worldwide.
Mission at scale: Help make food production more resilient and sustainable by enabling fully automated greenhouses to run reliably around the clock.
eternal.ag is building fully-autonomous food production sites that can sustainably produce fresh food year-round. Backed by world-class investors and partnering with leading agricultural companies, we're turning the vision of fully-autonomous greenhouses into reality.
