About this Job

About your role :

As a Robotics Motion Planning & Control Engineer (m/f/d) at Agile Robots, you will become part of a highly skilled and international team developing the core robotics algorithms powering AgileCore. Our team designs, implements, and maintains a broad portfolio of robotics algorithms that enable customers to build, deploy, and operate sophisticated automation solutions.

Your primary focus will be the complete motion stack—from planning robot motions in complex environments to executing them reliably on real hardware. You will work on kinematics, collision avoidance, trajectory planning, visualization, robot control, and bridging simulation and real-world execution.

Our team works in short, iterative development cycles with frequent releases, leveraging modern AI-assisted engineering practices to rapidly transform ideas into production-ready robotics software while maintaining high software quality.

Your responsibilities :

  • Develop algorithms for SLAM, localization, mapping, sensor fusion, and state estimation.

  • Integrate cameras, depth sensors, LiDAR, IMUs, encoders, and other robot sensors.

  • Develop and optimize controllers for position-, velocity-, or torque-controlled robots.

  • Implement URDF-based robot models, kinematics, dynamics, and coordinate transformations.

  • Improve performance through calibration, system identification, and controller tuning.

  • Develop tooling for visualization, simulation, debugging, and performance evaluation.

  • Integrate SLAM and control with perception, motion planning, and robot execution.

  • Contribute to the architecture and continuous evolution of AgileCore’s robotics framework.

  • Leverage AgileCore’s UI SDKs and AI-assisted workflows to create an excellent user experience.

Essential skills :

  • 5+ years of professional experience in robotics software development.

  • Solid programming skills in C++.

  • Strong understanding of SLAM, localization, state estimation, and sensor fusion.

  • Solid understanding of robot kinematics, coordinate transformations, and URDF-based modeling.

  • Experience developing and tuning control algorithms on real robots.

  • Experience with sensor calibration, system identification, and hardware–software debugging.

  • Experience developing production-quality software with clean architecture and APIs.

  • Understanding of real-time position, velocity, or torque control.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Based in Munich or open to relocating.

Beneficial skills :

  • Experience with humanoid, legged, or other high-degree-of-freedom robots.

  • Experience with whole-body, impedance, model predictive, or optimization-based control.

  • Experience with Pinocchio, GTSAM, Ceres, g2o, or similar frameworks.

  • Experience with visual, visual-inertial, LiDAR, or RGB-D SLAM.

  • Experience with ROS 2 or comparable robotics middleware.

  • Experience bridging robotics algorithms to simulation environments such as NVIDIA Isaac Sim or MuJoCo.

What we offer

  • A dynamic high-tech company, combined with financial soundness and world-class investors.

  • Join an interdisciplinary, international team with 60+ different nationalities in a collaborative work environment.

  • Lots of development opportunities as we continue to grow.

  • Challenging tasks and impactful projects alongside experts that enable professional and personal growth.

  • Corporate Benefits Program covering health, mobility, and learning for 100€ net per month.

  • Modern office facilities with a rooftop terrace overlooking Munich, free drinks & fruits, and regular company events contribute to a good working environment
