About the Role
We are seeking a Robotics Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced robotic manufacturing processes within the Product Development & Automation Group. This role plays a critical part in enabling flexible, repeatable, and high-quality fabrication of military equipment through the integration of industrial robotics and automated systems.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and layout of robotic manufacturing cells, including overall architecture and workflow optimization
Design, develop, and implement robotic processes integrating:
Welding systems (MIG, TIG, Laser)
Coating systems (liquid and powder)
Bending and forming systems
Select and integrate end-of-arm tooling (EOAT), sensors, and peripheral equipment
Develop robotic motion paths, process sequences, and cycle optimization strategies
Implement adaptive control strategies to manage variability in materials, joint geometry, and part tolerances
Collaborate closely with welding, coating, forming, controls, and quality teams to optimize process performance
Ensure compliance with mechanical, dimensional, and durability requirements
Support system commissioning, troubleshooting, and validation activities
Conduct process trials, repeatability studies, and technical readiness assessments
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and technical documentation
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Proven experience in industrial robotics and automation within a manufacturing environment
Hands-on experience integrating robotic welding, coating, and/or forming systems
Strong understanding of robotic cell design, EOAT, sensors, and peripheral equipment
Experience with robotic programming, motion planning, and process optimization
Familiarity with adaptive control, process variability management, and quality requirements
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams
