ABSI Aerospace & Defense is seeking an experienced Robotics Communication, Data & Networking SME to support the Intelligent Robotic Autonomous Systems (IRAS) Program Manager and Senior SUAS Remote Pilot Team Lead.  The Robotics Communication, Data & Networking SME will support all aspects of the integration, operation, sustainment, and maintenance of assigned IRAS platforms and their associated data, communications, and networking architectures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Communication, Data & Networking SME will be responsible for:  

  • Preparing and executing ISR and operational missions, which may include preparing and facilitating mission briefings
  • Configuring, integrating, and troubleshooting networked system components
  • Making necessary modifications to platform hardware, mechanical, electrical, and data/network subsystems
  • Supporting secure data transport, system-to-system integration, and interoperability between IRAS platforms, command and control nodes, sensor payloads, and supported SOF, USMC, and USSOCOM networks
  • Supporting SOF air, ground, maritime, and theater mission planning and execution regarding all IRAS platforms and tactical data networks
  • Diagnosing data flow, latency, and connectivity issues during training, testing, evaluation, and operational events
  • Supporting classroom, field, and computer-based/aided training related to system operation, mission planning, data management, and networked system employment
  • Capable of deploying to austere and operational environments in support of training, testing, and mission execution
  • Performing other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree. An additional four (4) years of experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.  An additional two (2) years of experience and an associate’s degree may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.  A Master Training Specialist or equivalent certification may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Must have at least eight (8) years of experience with remote, robotic, uncrewed, kinetic, or equivalent related systems, including experience operating, integrating, or supporting network-enabled and data-driven platforms
  • Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable certifications, licenses, and/or security clearances required for assigned platforms and supported systems
  • Must be capable of supporting systems in classroom, field, and computer-based/aided training environments
  • Capability of lifting and carrying 50 lbs. unassisted for short distances, standing and walking without rest for at least 1 hour, as well as performing required functions outdoors in variable conditions
  • Experience with SOF, USMC, or USSOCOM tactical networks, data links, mission command systems, and secure communications architectures
  • Graduate of MARSOF Network Operator Course (MNOC) and Enhanced Network Operator Course (ENOC) or equivalent Special Forces/USSOCOM certification

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Expert knowledge of tactical radio and networks to include Silvus StreamCaster 4000 series MIMO, AN/PRC-163/167 with TSM/TSM-X, Mesh Rider Doodle Labs RM-2450 series, Microhard PMDDL 2450, Persistent Systems MPU-5, and Trellisware Technologies TSM

  • Expert knowledge of Android Tactical Awareness Kit (ATAK) and Windows Tactical Awareness Kit (WinTAK)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based collaborative resources such as SharePoint and Microsoft Teams preferred

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
