About this Job
The Role
As our fleet continues to scale, we are looking for a Robotics Application Engineer to help ensure our robots perform reliably in the field and deliver maximum value to our customers.
You will deploy robots at customer sites, analyze field performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and continuously improve how our robots operate in real environments.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working hands-on with robots, solving real-world problems, and collaborating closely with development and commercial teams.
Key responsibilities
- Deploy robots in the real world
- Lead on-site robot deployments at customer facilities
- Configure robot behavior, patrol routes, and detection settings
- Train customer teams on operating and monitoring the robots
- Keep the robot fleet running
- Monitor fleet performance and analyze operational data
- Identify and diagnose issues in the field
- Perform remote debugging and organize on-site interventions when necessary.
- Work closely with the development team to solve hardware and software problems
- Improve robot performance
- Tune algorithms, calibrate sensors, and configure robot software
- Support software and feature rollouts to the fleet
- Test and validate robotics systems
- Design and execute testing programs for new features and improvements
- Help improve internal tools, deployment processes, and operational workflows
Background
Degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
Experience working with robotics systems, autonomous systems, or IoT devices
Familiar with common robotics tools like Ubuntu, ROS, Python, Shell, Docker, etc.
Hands-on engineer who enjoys working directly with robots
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex systems
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Willingness to travel to customer sites across Switzerland and Europe and possibly USA
Very good English skills (C1), German and/or French is a plus
Honest comments:
- Working with robots in the field often means working under pressure, either due to tight deadlines or due to customers watching.
- The robots work mostly at night and weekends, there could be some work needed during these times. This would of course be compensated.
- This is not a development job, you will not be coding the algorithms that run on the robot, or designing new robot parts. This job is in our operations team, making the robots work for our customers.
