Job Title: Robotic Weld Technician
**Reports to:**Supervisor at specified Business Unit
**FLSA Status:**NON-EXEMPT
**Schedule:**Monday through Thursday (Typically 4 x 10-hour shifts or 5 x 8-hour shifts) extended hours may be required to support business needs
Rate of pay:$25-$35 (Based on experience)
OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
Support production by keeping robots and automated machinery at levels they were originally designed to perform. Troubleshoot software and/or path programming to meet operational needs and cycle times.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITIONS:
Troubleshoot push buttons and press keys on robot controller, teach pendant when robotic equipment is out of sync.
Troubleshoot programmable controller that operates automated equipment, test for malfunctions and diagnose and verify repairs.
Install and repair electrical components of machinery and equipment.
Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment and document maintenance activities.
Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
Set up and maintain perishables and maintenance inventory.
Maintain and replace sensors.
Ability to train production employees to ensure proper usage of equipment.
Assist with continuous improvement.
Practice safe use of machinery and equipment.
Maintain 5S in robotic cell department.
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE:
- Allen Bradley Rockwell RS Logix 5000 PLCs program with logic and controls troubleshooting.
- Fanuc programming and Factory Talk to modify HMIs.
- Must be able to perform: robotic troubleshooting, robotic preventive maintenance and ladder programming.
- Knowledgeable of PLC and electrical diagrams.
- Advanced skills in welding and metal forming techniques and processes.
- Must have significant capacity for troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Ability to read and analyze technical schematics and blueprints.
- Experience with destructive and non destructive test methods.
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND:
- Technical school or five years related experience and/or training in a maintenance role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of experience working with automated weld equipment.
- Two years of experience with Allen Bradley controls and programs.
- Three years of experience working in an industrial automated environment.
