Our team at Meta Reality Labs is dedicated to exploring new technologies and integrating them into custom sensors. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work on projects that push the boundaries of what is possible in the field of tactile sensinf and contribute to the development of emerging technology. Our internships are twelve (12) to twenty-four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.

Responsibilities

  • Propose novel tactile sensing system architectures to achieve high performance and high durability for Robotics
  • Design tactile sensing systems and build prototypes
  • Characterize the tactile sensing system and experiment with practical use cases
  • Collaboration with and support of other researchers across various disciplines
  • Communication of research agenda, progress and results

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a Ph.D. degree in the fields of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering or related field
  • Experience in one or more types of tactile sensors such as resistive, capacitive, piezoelectric, or optical
  • Experience in analog/mixed signal circuit design
  • Experience in PCB design and testing
  • Experience in hardware system prototyping
  • Experience in signal processing
  • Simulation and modeling experience with scripting languages such as Python, Matlab
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in hardware design
  • Experience in tactile sensing system design and prototyping
  • Experience in sensor interfaces such as MIPI, I2C, I3C, SPI, etc
  • Experience with integrated circuit design CAD tools such as Cadence Virtuoso
  • Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, or fellowships, as well as first-authored publications in major conferences and journals such as ISSCC, JSSC, VLSI, CVPR, ICRA, RSS, IJRR, T-RO
  • Intent to return to degree program after the completion of the internship/co-op
