About this Job

Regulations and Safety Manager – Autonomous Drone Operations

At sees.ai, we are redefining how autonomous drones operate at scale.

Our technology enables complex missions - inspecting critical national infrastructure safely, repeatedly, and commercially.

We work in close partnership with the aviation authorities to ensure advanced autonomous operations are delivered in practice, not just in theory. This is real-world deployment at the forefront of autonomous capability.

As we scale further — including expansion outside of the UK - we are looking for someone to take hands-on ownership of our regulatory and safety function.

This role is about delivering on the full potential of autonomous technology in a way that balances safety, credibility, and commercial viability.

The Role

You will take ownership of sees.ai’s regulatory portfolio, working closely with the CTO and the rest of the regulatory team to advance our existing permissions and enable future operational capability.

This role requires strong judgement in interpreting evolving regulatory frameworks and applying them responsibly to real-world operations.

You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering sees.ai’s regulatory strategy, advancing current CAA permissions and securing new approvals aligned with client and operational needs

  • Managing our transition toward SORA-based approvals and owning multiple regulatory applications

  • Supporting operations and engineering teams with regulatory input on the feasibility of proposed activities

  • Maintaining and updating all documentation required for regulatory submissions and audits

  • Leading internal compliance efforts to ensure adherence to operational authorisations and regulatory changes

  • Collaborating with training and operations teams to ensure competencies align with evolving regulatory requirements

  • Representing sees.ai in industry forums and regulatory working groups

  • Engaging with external stakeholders and regulatory bodies to support safe expansion

  • Staying up to date with UK CAA regulations and international developments, including EASA frameworks

You will play a central role in ensuring that innovation, safety, and commercial delivery progress together — in the UK and internationally.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong working knowledge of UK CAA drone regulations and operational authorisations

  • Experience operating within structured regulatory environments

  • Sound judgement in interpreting evolving regulatory frameworks

  • High attention to detail and documentation discipline

  • Ability to balance safety, compliance, and commercial delivery

  • Confident communicator with regulators and senior internal stakeholders

  • Comfortable working in a technically advanced, evolving environment

Desirable:

  • Experience with BVLOS or advanced drone operations

  • Exposure to EASA regulatory frameworks

  • Experience developing or managing Safety Management Systems

  • Participation in regulatory working groups

The Kind of Person Who Will Thrive Here

  • Calm, measured, and pragmatic

  • Detail-oriented without being bureaucratic

  • Commercially aware

  • Credible in conversations with regulators

  • Motivated by enabling safe, scalable autonomous operations

Why Join sees.ai

  • Work at the forefront of autonomous aviation in the UK

  • Help shape how advanced drone operations are regulated and delivered in practice

  • Play a strategic role as we expand into Europe and beyond

  • Collaborate closely with leadership and technical teams

  • Competitive salary based on experience

If you have the judgement and experience to translate regulation into safe, commercially viable autonomous operations — across multiple jurisdictions — we’d love to hear from you.
