Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated R&D Engineer (FPGA) to join our innovative team developing cutting-edge Bit Error Ratio Test (BERT) and Arbitrary Waveform Generator (AWG) solutions. This role is strongly focused on FPGA development, with the vast majority of responsibilities centered on the design, implementation, and verification of next-generation FPGA-based architectures for high-speed digital test and measurement systems.
In this role, you will work closely with experienced engineers across hardware, software, and system domains, with a primary emphasis on developing and validating advanced FPGA designs for leading-edge applications. You will be involved in all phases of the product development lifecyclefrom architecture definition and RTL design to verification, hardware bring-up, and product releasewhile continuously building deep expertise in modern FPGA technologies.

Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and development of FPGA-based solutions for BERT and AWG systems
- Implement and verify digital designs using modern FPGA technologies (e.g., high-speed interfaces, DSP blocks, memory subsystems)
- Participate in architecture definition and translate system requirements into FPGA design specifications
- Develop RTL code (e.g., VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog) and support simulation and verification activities
- Support integration, bring-up, and debugging of FPGA designs on hardware platforms
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and system engineers to ensure overall product performance and functionality
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes
- Document design work, results, and technical learnings
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Solid understanding of digital design fundamentals (logic design, state machines, timing concepts)
- Basic experience with FPGA development flows (RTL design, simulation, synthesis, and debug)
- Exposure to hardware description languages (VHDL or Verilog)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- German language proficiency at minimum B2 level
Preferred
- Academic or internship experience with FPGA design projects
- Basic knowledge of high-speed digital systems or communication interfaces (e.g., PCIe, Ethernet, SerDes)
- Familiarity with simulation and verification tools and methodologies
- Exposure to lab measurements and debugging on real hardware
- Interest in test and measurement applications
- English language skills
