About this Job

Are you driven to solve industrial automation problems by inventing new robotic solutions from scratch? Do you have hands-on experience deploying and scaling novel robotic systems in real-world production environments? Can you lead a team to rapidly iterate on robotics hardware and overcome development obstacles?

If your answers are mostly yes, then you should keep reading.

At Nomagic, we’re on a mission to teach robots the real world. We are now looking for an experienced engineer and manager to lead Nomagic's robot deployments at scale in the role of Project Engineering Manager. You will work closely with the Hardware Team and the Engineering Managers in Software and ML teams on products and projects ranging from researching and prototyping robot cell solutions to production and support of robots already deployed.

We expect speed in a data-driven approach, experience in building and testing and great attitude towards working with other people in the company.

Offer essentials:

  • Play with robots every day
  • Salary: 25,000 - 35,000 gross UoP per month + equity
  • Relocation package
  • Truly flexible working hours
  • English-speaking environment

Here is why we love this job ourselves, and hope you will enjoy it too:

  • We build robots powered by AI
  • We have them in production at scale and see their real impact on critical operations
  • We’re still pretty small, so everyone has a direct impact on the final result
  • We combine world-class research with top-notch engineering and apply it to solve real problems
  • Our team has built Google Warsaw, unicorn startups (Climate Corp), tested rocket engines and worked at top companies such as ABB, Dematic or Nvidia. Now we shape the future of smart robotics together!

Some of the challenges you will face are:

  • Work together with external partners and build processes together with the Procurement team to enable rapid scaling of Nomagic operations - grow from tens to hundreds of robots annually
  • Lead team responsible for designing integration and delivery of robots to customers with end-to-end integration from electric connections to integrating hardware components (mechanical parts, electrical & pneumatic components, actuators, electronics, safety): hands-on at customer sites, with the team and contractors including CE certification
  • Make sure that the deadlines are respected working with project management from the very beginning of sales process up to the final installation at customer site
  • Work on product development, standardization and customer projects
  • Improve the processes used by Nomagic and hardware team to deliver prototype and production hardware (including iterating on agile practices used within the team)
  • Coach team members in delivering high quality hardware solutions using feedback based on data and startup oriented best practices

What skills we’d like you to have:

  • Experience in leading a team successfully building innovative hardware
  • 8+ years of experience in building hardware products (including mechanical components, pneumatics or electronics) that work at scale in production
  • Experience in designing and deploying automation systems and integrating them into robotized cells or production lines, including FAT & SAT
  • Knowledge of applicable machine safety regulations
  • Track record of working with industrial robots, ABB is a strong plus
  • Highly energetic and hands-on attitude! Strive to get things done and find solutions, whatever it takes
  • Experience in the intralogistic industry would be highly welcome
  • Strong organizational skills and drive to deliver great products at tight timelines. Experience in end-to-end project management is a strong plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time (peak) to customer sites
  • Engineering degree (Mechanical Engineering or similar)
  • Excellent communication skills in English.

What should you expect once you apply?

  • 30 minutes Recruiter phone screen
  • 45 minutes Hiring Manager interview
