Are you a visionary product leader with a passion for automation, and a deep understanding of IP and Optical networking? Do you thrive on translating complex technical challenges into innovative, user-centric solutions? We are seeking an experienced and strategic Product Manager to drive the evolution of our network automation applications, with an ambitious goal: to help our team of automation developers achieve Level 4 Highly Autonomous Networking automation, as defined by the TM Forum, over the next four years.

In this pivotal role, you will own the product strategy, roadmap, and delivery of automation applications that revolutionize how our IP and Optical networks operate. You will work closely with our talented engineering teams, network operations, and other stakeholders to identify critical pain points, define compelling features, and ensure the successful adoption of our automation solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to directly influence the future of network management and contribute to the realization of truly autonomous networks.

What you’ll do

  • Define product vision and strategy for IP and Optical network automation applications, aligning with business objectives and TM Forum Autonomous Networks framework

  • Develop strategic roadmap with clear pathway to achieving Level 4 Highly Autonomous Networking within four years

  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer interviews to identify automation trends, needs, and opportunities

  • Translate business requirements into detailed product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria while managing prioritized product backlog

  • Collaborate with engineering teams throughout product lifecycle from ideation to deployment and ongoing maintenance

  • Act as primary interface between engineering, network operations, customer teams, marketing, and executive leadership on product development

  • Champion TM Forum Autonomous Networking model within organization and collaborate with industry bodies to stay current on advancements

  • Develop productization strategy for market licensing opportunities and create business cases articulating automation benefits

  • Define KPIs to measure automation application success, monitor performance, analyze usage data, and drive adoption through communication and training

 

Qualifications

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in product management, with a strong focus on software products for network automation or telecommunications.

  • In-depth understanding of IP and Optical networking technologies, protocols, and architectures (e.g., MPLS, Segment Routing, DWDM, OTN, SD-WAN).

  • Demonstrable knowledge of the TM Forum's Autonomous Networks Levels (Level 0 to Level 5) and their implications for network operations.

  • Proven experience working with automation technologies and platforms (e.g., Ansible, Python scripting, NetDevOps tools, network orchestration).

  • Solid understanding of agile development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).

Great-to-haves

  • Experience with AI/ML applications in network automation.

  • Familiarity with intent-based networking concepts.

  • Experience in a telecommunications service provider environment.

  • Certified Product Owner (CSPO) or similar product management certification.
