About this Job
At LIGENTEC, we aren’t just following the roadmap of the Industrial Revolution 4.0; we are writing it. Based in the vibrant EPFL Innovation Park, we specialize in ultra-low loss Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) that power the world’s most advanced Quantum, LiDAR, and Space technologies.

Tasks
About the Job
As our new Process Technician, you will be at the heart of our innovation hub, transforming complex designs into tangible Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs). Reporting directly to the Team Leader Process, you will bridge the gap between prototyping and small-scale fabrication. This is a 100% pensum role where you are the "pilot" of our cleanroom, executing end-to-end process flows across lithography, etching, and thin-film technical areas. You aren’t just running machines; you are ensuring the quality and scalability of next-generation technology through meticulous data collection and SPC (Statistical Process Control).
Requirements
What You Know
To excel in this technical environment, you bring a robust foundation in microfabrication:
- Technical Foundation: A completed technical education (e.g., Physics Laboratory Technician) or equivalent industrial experience.
- Cleanroom Expertise: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in a wafer processing setting (Semiconductor, MEMS, Solar, or Photonics).
- Tool Mastery: Proficiency in tool operation, maintenance, and safety protocols within a controlled environment.
- Quality Data: Proven ability to use metrology tools, compile test data, and generate comprehensive quality reports.
- Language: Working proficiency in English is required; French is a significant advantage for local collaboration.
Who You Are
We are looking for a meticulous professional who thrives in the "precision" culture of Switzerland:
- Autonomous Reliable: You have the confidence to execute complex process flows independently with minimal supervision.
- Quality-Obsessed: You possess a "first-time-right" mentality, with an eagle eye for detail, cleanliness, and tidiness.
- Passionate Maker: You genuinely enjoy working with state-of-the-art equipment and staying at the forefront of microfabrication trends.
- Ethical Disciplined: You maintain a strong work ethic, understanding that in a cleanroom, the smallest oversight can impact the entire batch.
