Position Summary

Our Hartwell, Georgia, factory measures an impressive 500,000 square feet. It represents our most versatile facility to date, enabling us to switch product lines with greater speed and efficiency. Together, we take immense pride in producing and distributing the brands that our customers trust and that bring joy to pets' lives. As a Controls Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining and enhancing the accuracy, reliability and system control’s data credibility of PLC and PC-based automation systems. In this role, you will oversee PLC upgrades and wiring modifications on production equipment, and work directly with our maintenance team to troubleshoot and support production line modifications.

  • Perform troubleshooting of automation systems and provides instrumentation, PLC and HMI/SCADA software and hardware support to the maintenance staff.
  • Execute plant projects and capital projects through conception to completion.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and complete set of as-built electrical and controls documentation.
  • Coordinate and implement control system software upgrades.
  • Perform Network Administration and Data Administration tasks for networked, PC based, control systems related equipment.
  • Develop, read, and interpret all electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and programs essential to plant operation; provide updates as necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • 3+ years' applicable experience in PLC software and hardware troubleshooting and/or PC-based HMI systems.

OR

  • Associate’s Degree in a technical discipline.
  • 1+ years' applicable experience in PLC software and hardware troubleshooting and/or PC-based HMI systems (positions such as Process Control Technician, Industrial Technician, Engineering Technician, Production Technician, Manufacturing Engineering Technician, PLC Programmer, Engineering Technician PLC, Industrial Automation, or other relevant position).

The approximate pay range for this position is $62,000.00 - $83,000.00 per year. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
