Job Summary:
A programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Tech job involves designing, programming, testing, and maintaining PLC System that automate industrial processes in manufacturing or other industries. Key responsibilities include writing and optimizing control programs (like ladder logic), integrating hardware like sensors and actuators, troubleshooting system failures, and collaborating with engineering team to ensure efficiency and reliability.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Ability to read and interpret PLC programs, A-B Studio 5000, and load such programs.
Diagnose problems with existing equipment/machinery.
Install, troubleshoot, and maintain all manners of electrical components.
Use of computer systems to perform diagnostics on electrical components and system.
Perform work from blueprints, sketches, or specifications.
Inspect, clean, replace, and repair machines, motors, and other electrical components.
Maintain wiring systems; bend conduit and replace old wiring.
Replace guards, covers, and close control cabinets after work is completed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task and work in a high demand and dynamic environment.
Strong computer skills such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP and others.
Strong technical background and problem-solving skills to ensure the proper functioning of automated systems.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
At least 2 years specialized training in field
Certificates of completion in the field
Experience with Keyence Laser systems
Experience with motion controls and drives
Experience with Cognex, Keyence Vision System
Experience with Robot Controls
Knowledge of CAD is a plus
Physical Requirements:
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the associate must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment. The associate is often required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to elevate to heights of 30 feet or higher and lift 50 pounds or more.
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is often exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The associate is also exposed to varying weather elements, frequently exposed to hot and humid temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is usually noisy. Some floors may be wet and slippery, so proper footwear is required.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
Ability to stand for duration of shift
Ability to be always aware of surrounding environment and conditions
