About this Job
To serve as the "brain" of our automated solutions by developing high-performance control software. You will be responsible for the sophisticated logic, path planning, and synchronization ofRobotic armsandMulti-axis Motion Controlsystems, ensuring they operate with surgical precision and safety.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Robotics & Motion Orchestration
- Kinematics & Path Planning:Program and optimize complex robotic trajectories and coordinate motion across multiple axes (Servos, VFDs, and Actuators).
- Robot Integration:Handle the software-level integration of industrial robots (e.g.,FANUC,KUKA, orUniversal Robots) into the master machine sequence.
- Synchronization:Develop high-speed electronic gearing, camming, and interpolation logic to sync robotics with peripheral hardware like heaters and conveyors.
2. PLC Logic & Software Architecture
- State Machine Development:Design robust, modular control logic usingIEC 61131-3standards (Structured Text, Ladder, Function Block).
- Advanced Process Control:Implement PID loops and specialized algorithms for high-power thermal systems and precision motion.
3. Safety & Regulatory Logic
- Functional Safety (SIL):ProgramSafety PLCsto execute the mitigation strategies identified in theSafety Risk Failure Analysis (FMEA).
- Compliance:Ensure all motion and robotic software routines comply withCEandULpersonnel safety standards.
4. Interface & Communication
- HMI/SCADA:Create intuitive user interfaces that provide real-time visualization of robotic status, motion diagnostics, and alarm history.
- Industrial Networking:Configure low-latency communication protocols (e.g.,EtherCAT, Profinet IRT, EtherNet/IP) for real-time motion feedback.
5. Multidisciplinary Commissioning
- The Handshake:Take ownership of the system once theHardware Engineercompletes I/O mapping; perform final tuning of servo loops and robotic cycles.
Requirements
- Education:Bachelor’s Degree inMechatronics,Robotics,Electrical Engineering, orAutomation.
- Experience:5+ yearsin amultidisciplinary environment, specifically focusing on robotic cells and complex motion systems.
- Technical Expertise:Proficient in motion control software (e.g.,Rockwell Beckhoff,Siemens) and robotic programming environments.
- Problem Solving:Expert at debugging intermittent "ghost" issues in high-speed, multi-axis automated machines.
