Your Role

As a PLC Automation Engineer, you will contribute to the automation and continuous improvement of production test facilities that are approximately 60% automated. You will work in a lean, hands-on team environment where your technical expertise and creative problem-solving skills will directly impact operational efficiency and system reliability.

In this role you will play a key role in:

• Developing, modifying, and maintaining PLC programs using Siemens TIA Portal, ensuring reliable operation and seamless integration with SCADA systems (WinCC OA)
• Creatively and independently improving existing test installations with a focus on stability, efficiency, and automation enhancement
• Supporting installation updates and managing small project tasks within a dynamic engineering environment
• Troubleshooting complex automation issues and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime
• Collaborating with engineering teams, operators, and international stakeholders (including China) to explain technical actions and ensure smooth implementation

Your Profile

• You have 3-5 years of experience in industrial automation with strong expertise in PLC programming (Siemens TIA Portal)
• You possess a Master's degree or equivalent in Automation/Industrial Engineering
• You are fluent in Dutch and English
• You demonstrate solid PLC programming and troubleshooting skills with the ability to optimize existing systems
• You have basic electrical knowledge, including the ability to connect and disconnect sensors
• You are familiar with SCADA systems (experience with WinCC OA is a plus)
• You exhibit a high level of independence, problem-solving mindset, and creativity to improve existing installations
• You communicate clearly with cross-functional teams and can explain technical concepts effectively
