Summary Objective
The Operational Technology (OT) Technician is responsible for supporting and maintaining plant-floor technology systems that enable safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations. This role is hands-on and execution-focused, working directly with industrial equipment, control systems, and OT networks.
Reporting to the OT Manager, the OT Technician partners closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and IT teams to support automation platforms, industrial connectivity, and system uptime. This role bridges physical production environments and digital systems while adhering to strict safety, security, and change management practices.
Essential Functions
OT Systems & Plant-Floor Support
- Support daily operation and maintenance of plant-floor systems including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, industrial PCs, and IIoT devices
- Provide Tier 23 technical support for Windows, including hardware, software, and network issues
- Perform basic troubleshooting of automation and control system issues in coordination with OT Engineers and vendors
- Assist with installation, configuration, and commissioning of new IT/OT equipment and OT assets
- Monitor system health, alarms, and connectivity to ensure production uptime
Industrial Networking & Connectivity
- Support industrial Ethernet networks, including switches, cabling, and segmented IT/OT environments
- Assist with device connectivity, IP addressing, and network troubleshooting under OT and IT guidance
- Coordinate with IT to ensure proper separation and secure integration between IT and OT networks
Security, Safety & Compliance
- Follow IT/OT cybersecurity standards, access controls, and segmentation requirements
- Support patching, antivirus, and endpoint protection for IT/OT assets as directed
- Adhere to safety protocols when working in manufacturing and production environments
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, changes, and maintenance activities

Vendor & Project Support
- Support vendors and system integrators during maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting activities
- Assist with OT-related projects such as automation improvements, equipment upgrades, and expansions
- Track work activities and provide updates to the OT Manager and project teams
Documentation & Collaboration
- Create and maintain IT/OT documentation including system diagrams, procedures, and asset inventories
- Log incidents, service requests, and work performed in ticketing and/or maintenance systems
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, EHS, and IT teams

Work Location
This position will work out of our Manufacturing Facility in Ft Worth, TX. This position is not approved for telecommuting or working remotely. Or where the employee will physically work.
**Work Environment **This role operates in both manufacturing plant-floor environments and professional office settings. The position routinely interfaces with industrial equipment, control panels, and production systems.
**Physical Demands **While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
**Position Type/Expected Hours of Work **This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. with occasional after-hours or weekend work required to support production maintenance, or outages.
**Travel **While there is no anticipated regular travel for this position. Some occasional between Stellar Energy location and future operational sites may be necessary. Occasional travel to conferences may be required.
Required Education and Experience
- Associates or bachelors degree in industrial technology, Engineering Technology, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent hands-on experience
- 25 years of experience supporting OT, industrial automation, manufacturing systems, or plant-floor technology
- Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, or industrial control systems
- Basic understanding of industrial networking concepts (Ethernet, TCP/IP, segmentation)
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience working in manufacturing or industrial environments preferred
