Job Title: Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician
Location: Skinningrove, Saltburn-by-the-Sea
Salary: £19.27/hour - plus 33% shift uplift for nights
Hours: Full Time, Permanent
Travel: Up to 5% for training and development
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off, 2-day shifts, 2-night shifts.
Closing Date: 10/03/2026
Benefits:
Contributory pension scheme - Caterpillar will double the employees’ contribution to 10%.

About Caterpillar Skinningrove
Caterpillar Skinningrove, located near Teeside, began operations in 1998. The facility produces steel track shoes. When mounted on the track link assembly, the track shoes form the 'Cat track' found on Hydraulic Excavators, Track Type Loaders, and Track Type Tractors.
The Opportunity:
As a Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for completing planned and reactive maintenance activities to ensure a high level of uptime is achieved on a wide range of equipment throughout the facility.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Maintain and develop the facility availability and up time using fault analysis through pareto analysis and condition monitoring.
To be able to fault find on electrical/electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic circuits
To work to a planned preventative maintenance schedule
To liaise with the manufacturing and engineering departments to ensure equipment availability
Manage projects within the areas of responsibility
Able to root cause a machine failure and implement corrective actions in multiple disciplines
To generate ideas of how to save money in terms of cost and velocity and awareness of the area's budget
You will be evaluated in line with the below competencies - Building Trust, Customer Focus, Decision Making, Effective Communication, Enterprise Point of View, Focus on Quality, Inclusive Environment, Personal Accountability, Personal Development, Working Safely, Working Together.
What skills/experience you will have:
NVQ Level 3 / Time served Apprentice background or equivalent qualification, preferably with the latest I.E.E. 17th/18th Edition - you will be asked for copies of these certificates.
Operating PLC, Electrical / Electronic & CNC systems, Fault finding & diagnostics.
Ability to read electrical / mechanical schematics and PLC ladder listings.
Maintenance and fault-finding experience (Mechanical and Electrical) in a manufacturing environment
An interest in problem solving and passion to learn
Highly motivated with a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement
Strong communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team and be comfortable to work independently
Top candidates will also have:
NEBOSH/IOSH Qualification or experience and evidence of safety improvement activities
Hydraulic and mechanical experience.
Experience ABB Robots
Driving licence, recognised forklift licence, MEWP license
