Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Working responsibly for research, design, development, test, and qualification of camera hardware for Apple products. Involving with designing, implementing, debugging, and developing the methods to calibrate imaging systems and then the metrics to quantify their performance at factories around the world. Developing new testers/critical optical components to meet design requirements for calibration and test. Developing and deploying software that calibrates and tests imaging systems. Designing and conducting experiments to provide feedback for new product design and process. Analyzing volume data to provide mentorship on engineering decisions. 10% international travel required. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $184,700 - $277,600/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications

Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Imaging optics, Camera testing, Image processing or related field. Experience and/or education must include: Developing image/data processing algorithms and automation software using MATLAB or Python for camera and depth module calibration and mass production test systems. Designing and analyzing protection circuits and electrical/optical metrology systems to meet functional safety requirements and calibration design specifications. Implementing end-to-end automated test equipment (ATE) for camera and depth modules, including software that controls test hardware, processes images, and calibrates imaging performance at global factory scale. Debugging and perform hardware failure analysis using lab instruments — including high-speed oscilloscopes, SMUs, DMMs, power meters, and spectrum analyzers — to resolve complex technical issues during hardware development. Reviewing circuit schematic capture, PCB layouts, and mechanical designs of test fixtures to validate hardware against engineering requirements. Defining and documenting functional requirements, test specifications, calibration flows, hardware configurations, and software pipeline documentation for imaging systems. Visualizing and analyzing large-volume production data to identify performance trends, support engineering decisions, and present findings to senior engineers. Leading external vendors and cross-functional internal teams in integrating multi-functional test heads into ATE systems, including equipment setup, debugging, and performance optimization. Quantifying imaging system performance by designing and deploying metrics and calibration methods for camera and depth modules across worldwide manufacturing operations
