Position Overview

OWT Global is seeking a Field Service Engineer (FSE) to support the Modular Autonomous Response System (MARS) program at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH. The MARS FSE will provide operational, technical, training, integration, and sustainment support to Air Force organizations responsible for the continued development, maturation, fielding, and expansion of MARS capabilities.

The FSE will serve as an operational and technical Subject Matter Expert (SME), supporting the integration and employment of small Uncrewed Aerial Systems (sUAS), airspace management capabilities, communications systems, command-and-control technologies, Tactical Assault Kit (TAK), autonomy, and other technologies incorporated into the MARS architecture. This position requires an individual who can operate independently in a dynamic mission environment while effectively coordinating with Government leadership, operational users, technical organizations, program offices, and industry partners. Travel is approximately 2030%.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as an operational and technical SME supporting MARS operations, integration, training, sustainment, and capability development.
• Support the installation, configuration, integration, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and sustainment of MARS systems and associated technologies.
• Provide technical and operational support for sUAS, TAK, communications, airspace management, autonomy, and related mission technologies.
• Support the training and qualification of MARS operators, sUAS pilots, and other mission personnel.
• Assist with the planning and execution of operational exercises, demonstrations, system testing, and technology evaluations.
• Support MARS operations as required to address operational requirements and mission support needs.
• Assist with the evaluation and integration of emerging technologies into the MARS architecture.
• Identify technical, operational, integration, and sustainment issues and provide recommendations for resolution or mitigation.
• Support the development and refinement of operational concepts, integration requirements, and future MARS capabilities.
• Coordinate with Air Force organizations, installation personnel, program offices, research organizations, technical partners, and industry stakeholders.
• Provide technical input and recommendations to Government leadership regarding system performance, operational readiness, capability gaps, technology integration, sustainment, and future requirements.
• Support the expansion and fielding of MARS capabilities at additional Air Force locations.
• Provide technical and operational support for activities associated with MARS cybersecurity and Authority to Operate (ATO) requirements, as needed.
• Provide input to recurring program and operational reporting regarding activities, accomplishments, system status, identified issues, and upcoming milestones.
• Support the development and delivery of training associated with MARS operations and employment, Tactical Assault Kit (TAK), Small Uncrewed Aerial Systems (sUAS), Counter-small Uncrewed Aerial Systems (C-sUAS), airspace management and UAS Traffic Management (UTM), communications and networking technologies, Full Motion Video (FMV) operations, advanced sUAS operator training, and autonomous and remotely operated mission systems.
• Participate in operational exercises, developmental testing, technology demonstrations, and research and development activities supporting continued maturation of MARS capabilities.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience supporting complex technical or operational systems in a military, Department of War, Federal Government, or similar mission environment.
• Experience with one or more of the following mission areas: Small Uncrewed Aerial Systems (sUAS), Counter-small Uncrewed Aerial Systems (C-sUAS), Tactical Assault Kit (TAK), airspace management, command-and-control systems, communications and networking systems, autonomous or remotely operated systems, or C5ISR systems.
• Experience installing, integrating, configuring, operating, troubleshooting, or sustaining technical systems.
• Ability to translate technical information into operationally relevant recommendations and solutions.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple operational and technical requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively interact with operational personnel, technical SMEs, program personnel, installation leadership, and senior Government stakeholders.
• Ability to support training, demonstrations, exercises, and other customer facing mission activities.
• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Aviation, Unmanned Systems, or a related technical discipline preferred (relevant military, technical, operational, or industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).

Desired Skills & Experience

• Previous experience supporting Air Force or Department of War unmanned systems, airspace management, C-sUAS, or related mission programs.
• Experience with TAK/ATAK and associated mission applications.
• Experience with sUAS operations, training, or certification.
• Experience supporting technology development, operational testing, fielding, or capability integration.
• Experience working with Air Force research, acquisition, installation, or operational organizations.
• Familiarity with system cybersecurity, Authority to Operate (ATO), or Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities.
• Experience briefing senior military or Government leadership.
• Experience supporting system fielding at multiple operational locations.

Clearance & Citizenship

• Active Secret clearance required; Top Secret eligibility preferred.
• U.S. Citizen.

Location

• Approximately 2030% travel in support of MARS mission requirements (may include site surveys, system installation and integration, training, operational exercises, technology demonstrations, working groups, and other program related activities).
