Ecolab, Purolite Resins is seeking a Mechanically Biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician who will work within the UK Engineering team and contribute to the efficient day-to-day operation of the UK manufacturing plant. This role is based at our state-of-the-art manufacturing site in Llantrisant, Wales.
Work in Ecolab, Purolite Resins' Llantrisant Manufacturing Facility to ensure all mechanical, electrical, and associated plant equipment is safe, functional, and fully maintained to the highest standards. Carry out comprehensive mechanical troubleshooting and repair as a primary function, whilst supporting electrical and instrumentation tasks to ensure seamless production and deliver manufacturing output targets.
This role is suitable for candidates with a strong maintenance background who also possess or are developing electrical and instrumentation competencies.

What you'll do:
Ensure the continued upkeep of the Llantrisant Manufacturing Facility for all mechanical, rotating equipment, piping systems, and associated electrical & instrumentation equipment through a hands-on approach.
Proactively carry out preventative maintenance, support service visits, mechanical inspections, alignments, and other measures primarily focused on mechanical integrity, whilst supporting electrical and control system tasks.
Develop maintenance procedures and other Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental documentation as necessary, with a focus on mechanical safety and operational integrity.
Working safely on site and adhering to health and safety procedures for maintenance work.
Work with Process Engineers, Plant Engineers & other production R&D staff on troubleshooting and improvement projects, often leading on mechanical fault analysis.
Ensure all Maintenance (internal & contractors) work, both mechanical and electrical, is carried out correctly, safely and recorded as per the procedures.
Act as a key stakeholder in the facility and be available for remote support and call out – process to be defined.
Any other reasonable duties as required by management of the company.
Working Hours: Shift pattern (4 on 4 off days / 12 hour shifts).
What you'll need:
Strong experience in fault finding and repair of mechanical systems, including pumps, agitators, pipework, valves, seals, and rotating equipment.
Experience with mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical control/automation systems.
Experience with three-phase motors, drives and instrumentation involving flow, pressure, temperature, and level measurement.
Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, and P&ID drawings.
Ability to write clear effective reports and procedures.
Ability to follow complex work instructions and document completed work accurately.
Ability to work at heights, handle and work with heavy equipment.
Basic workshop skills, including fitting, welding (desirable), and fabrication.
HNC qualified in an engineering discipline or time served apprenticeship with experience.
Desirable but not essential:
Experience of working in a chemical environment.
Experience of Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance in hazardous areas.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations desirable (demonstrating electrical awareness).
Familiar with DSEAR and ATEX zones.
Experience of PLC systems, Control Panels, HMI's & SCADA Systems (preferably Siemens S7-1500).
Specific training or certifications in mechanical areas (e.g., rotating equipment, confined space, rigging).
