We are looking for aMechanical Engineering Intern who is curious, loves to learn, and wants to make an impact on cutting-edge projects. Our program has multiple elements (no pun intended) to ensure that you have a well-rounded internship experience helping the Mechanical Engineering team by taking ownership of a portion of a large scale project, utilize their expertise to address real-world issues, and gain valuable RD engineering experience while contributing to the development of an exceptional sequencing product. This internship will also provide opportunities to develop soft-skills as well as meet with Leaders across the organization to learn about their careers and gain insights on how to navigate your early career decisions.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Fabricate quick turn prototypes to demonstrate design feasibility of mechanical and fluidic sub-systems
- Characterize electromechanical functionality of sub-modules within a larger medical device
- Design, assemble, troubleshoot, and verify testbed functionality
- Work with users to document test cases for testbeds
- Refine the requirements for testbed design
- Prepare for and conduct design review
- Quote and source designed parts
- Execute test cases on sub-assemblies of interest
Education and Experience:
- Rising Senior level undergraduate or graduate student in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with motion control systems and actuator design
- Experience with mechanical design, 3D printing, laser cutting, and fabrication techniques required
- Experience with SolidWorks required
- Electrical circuit integration and debug desired
- Basic coding in Python or C# desired
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies
- Machine vision experience desired

Base Compensation Pay Range:
- $25 - 40/hr
