Job Title: Measurement Technician I Location: Midland, TX Schedule: 5/2 – 40 hours per week Pay Rate: $32/hr
Scope
Measurement Technician I Family: Operations (Tech) Class: Operations
Main Functions
Qualified individual responsible for oversight and maintenance of oil & gas measurement systems. Role includes involvement in calibration (tanks, tank cars, equipment, etc.), tank gauging, gas and liquid measurement, meter proving, temperature and pressure correction for volumetric measurements, and control charting (including basic statistical concepts and applications). Provides operability and maintainability inputs and expertise for the Instruments and Controls discipline.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and calibrate measurement equipment
Install and maintain radio equipment and ensure communication uplink
Participate in and understand:
Maintain strong commitment to safety culture and environmental standards
Set process controls in both field and processing plant environments
Perform calibration, troubleshooting, diagnostic testing, and preventative maintenance
Install, test, and troubleshoot RTU equipment
Calibrate and troubleshoot transmitters and communication equipment
Install and test flow transmitters in the field
Test moisture content, gravity, and CO₂ of gas
Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience in a closely related position and/or relevant industry experience
- Experience calibrating gas and liquid meters
- ABB and ROC meter calibration experience preferred
- Familiarity with Muddy Boots system preferred
- Experience installing and maintaining Fisher ROC and ABB gas measurement equipment and WinCCU software preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Commitment to safety standards
Education:
- No college degree required
