Job Description

  • As part of your thesis, you will break down the requirements for torque sensing in robotic drives at both the system and subsystem level in a clear and structured manner. 
  • To identify technological trends and potential opportunities, you will conduct comprehensive market analyses and benchmarking of current systems. 
  • You will develop and refine a concept along with suitable torque sensors and, based on this, create a clear decision matrix. 
  • During the functional design phase, you will design the one or two preferred concept solutions for a Proof of Concept (PoC). 
  • In addition, you will realistically estimate the development effort and product costs to create a sound basis for further decisions. 
  • Finally, you will prepare convincing decision proposals for the subsequent course of action.

 

Qualifications

  • Education: Master studies in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Robotics, or comparable, with good grades 
  • Experience and Knowledge: basic knowledge of Requirements-Engineering and the product development process; strong understanding of MATLAB/Simulink and model‑based development; foundational skills in working with 3D CAD tools and engineering design; initial experience with mobile and humanoid robots as well as electric drives; solid mechatronic competence 
  • Personality and Working Practice: you excel at working independently, collaborating effectively in teams, and generating creative solutions 
  • Work Routine: we offer you the possibility to work remotely part of the time 
  • Enthusiasm: for robotics and sensor technologies 
  • Languages: fluent in English and very good in German

Start: according to prior agreement Duration: 6 months
