Manufacturing Process Engineer
Fremont, CA | Onsite
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to lead the industrialization, assembly, and test strategy for robotic inspection and cleaning systems deployed in utility-scale solar PV plants. This role owns the end-to-end manufacturing process, from in-house pilot builds through scale-up and successful transfer to contract manufacturing partners.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Process Ownership
Define, develop, and document end-to-end assembly and test processes for robotic inspection and cleaning platforms
Establish station layouts, tooling requirements, work instructions, and quality control checkpoints
Supportearly buildswhileworking with contract manufacturersensuringequipment, assembly line andprocess readiness for scale
Managefunctional, diagnostic, and end-of-line test proceduresand test stations
Lead first-article builds, process validation, and root-cause failure analysis
Scale-Up & Contract Manufacturing Transfer
Lead manufacturing handoff to MAI and CM partners
Developand/or approveprocess documentation, training materials, and tooling packages
Act as technical manufacturing interface during NPItransition toramp
Quality & Continuous Improvement
Drive PFMEA development, yield tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives
Provide DFM/DFA feedback to design teams
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering
5+ years of experience in robotics or electromechanical manufacturing
Strong hands-on manufacturing and test background
Preferred Experience
Robotics or autonomous systemsor factory automation systems implementation
Experience in new product introduction (NPI), pilot builds, and contract manufacturing transitions
MAI(Manufacturing & Assembly Integration)and contract manufacturing environments
