Maintenance Technician

Provide technical support for a 24/7 manufacturing facility. Ensure all production lines and support equipment are readily available for use, based on production demands. Perform preventative, proactive and corrective maintenance on machines. Perform electro-mechanical diagnoses and repair. Support Engineering and other departments for projects and process improvements.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow all Environmental, Health and Safety requirements and protocols.
  • Performs all functions safely and complies with all KP safety guidelines.
  • Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on complex machinery.
  • Performs routine inspections on machines and notifies leadership of any defects found.
  • Diagnose complex system problems and make necessary corrections to resolve.
  • Works with Predictive Maintenance Specialists, internal or external, to correct findings from PdM inspections.
  • Maintains accurate records of work performed, materials and time within the maintenance management system (SAP).
  • Procures materials through requisitions when needed.
  • Read blueprints, schematics and technical literature and uses them as needed to correct problems, calibrate sensors and make improvements.
  • Uses PLC’s, SCADA systems and other computer systems to diagnose problems and correct.
  • Basic fabrication skills to include fabrication, welding, cutting and grinding.
  • Strong mechanical skills to include rebuild and repair of complex machines, drive systems, conveyors, rollers, heating systems, compressors, blowers, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Participates in root cause analysis of breakdowns and supports the reliability efforts for the site.
  • Works with engineering and contractors to install upgrades and new equipment.
  • Maintains all equipment, work areas, shop tools, tool boxes, storage areas, etc. compliant within 5s standards for the site.

Job Requirements

  • 2-4 years Maintenance Experience or associate degree in industrial maintenance or equivalent. combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge and certification in NFPA 70E preferred.
  • Good electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Good mechanical skills and aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 60lbs.
  • Ability to squat, sit, stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to use computers.
  • Willing to work rotating shifts.
