About this Job

Maintenance Technician

By applying electrical theory and related knowledge, assists engineers in the design, evaluation and repair of electrical equipment.

Job Duties

Provide basic technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during and after construction

Assemble electrical and electronic systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments

Collaborate with engineers and other personnel to identify, define and solve developmental problems

Analyze and interpret test information to resolve design-related problems

Draw or modify diagrams and write engineering specifications to clarify design details and functional criteria of experimental electronics units

Install, repair, modify and upgrade industrial control systems; control systems may be relay controlled, microprocess based on PLC logic (i.e., PLC programming and troubleshooting)

Conduct inspections for quality control and assurance programs, reporting findings and recommendations

Prepare project cost and work-time estimates when needed

Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately

Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)

Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures

Perform other duties as assigned

Experience and Education

Perform work under direct supervision

Handle basic issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff

Possessbeginning to working knowledgeof subject matter

Typically requireaccreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades programand 0 to 2 years of experience
