About the Role:

Custom Glass Solutions is seeking a talented individual to join our Maintenance Team! The Electrical Maintenance Technician will install, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment on the production floor. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who possess the ability to relate to employees at all levels. The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for uptime of machinery and prompt response to downtime events. As unique situations present themselves the successful candidate must be sensitive to customer needs, corporate goals and company reputation. The selected candidate will interface with all production areas at our Upper Sandusky, OH location.

Maintenance and Repair:

    • Perform routine maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems and equipment, including glass cutting machines, furnaces, conveyors, automated systems, robotics and control systems.
    • Diagnose and repair electrical faults in machinery, control panels, and wiring.
    • Replace or repair components such as motors, transformers, circuit breakers, and switches as needed.
    • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation of production lines.
    • Conduct preventive maintenance to identify potential problems and implement corrective actions.
    • Strong knowledge of PLC programming, HMI (Human-Machine Interface)

Troubleshooting:

    • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify electrical and mechanical problems in machinery and systems.
    • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately.
    • Collaborate with other maintenance staff and production teams to resolve electrical and mechanical issues promptly.
    • Work closely with production teams to address and resolve electrical and mechanical issues quickly, minimizing downtime.

Installation and Upgrades:

    • Assist in the installation of new electrical and mechanical equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with all safety and electrical codes.
    • Implement upgrades and modifications to existing electrical and mechanical systems to improve efficiency and performance.
    • Test and commission new installations and upgrades to ensure proper operation.
    • Participate in safety training and contribute to a culture of safety within the facility.

Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities for improving the reliability and efficiency of electrical and mechanical systems and equipment.
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and suggest innovative solutions to enhance production capabilities.
    • Provide training and support to production staff on electrical systems and best practices.

You will succeed in this position if you:

    • Technical certification in electrical maintenance or a related field**.**
    • Hold 3-5 years Industrial and/or electrical Maintenance experience in a manufacturing workplace, experience in glass manufacturing is a plus.
    • Demonstrate values and behaviors which are aligned with CGS Principles and culture.
    • Display willingness to learn new technology and coach new colleagues.
    • Understand Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
    • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team while prioritizing tasks effectively.
    • Ability to proactively execute multiple projects, while staying organized and committed to production deadlines.
    • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing, walking, and working in various conditions.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
