What You Will Do

As the Maintenance Engineering Manager, you will lead a skilled maintenance team while driving reliability, safety, continuous improvement, and capital project execution. You will partner closely with production, engineering, quality, EHS, and operations leaders to reduce downtime, improve equipment performance, and support world-class manufacturing practices.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead preventive and predictive maintenance strategies that improve uptime, reliability, and equipment performance.
  • Apply root cause analysis and reliability engineering principles to eliminate recurring equipment issues.
  • Oversee troubleshooting and rapid response for mechanical, electrical, controls, automation, and fluid power systems.
  • Drive capital projects, automation upgrades, equipment refurbishments, and system improvements from concept through commissioning.
  • Use CMMS tools to manage work orders, labor utilization, asset history, maintenance KPIs, and spare parts strategy.
  • Integrate and optimize systems such as PLC/HMI, SCADA, and other automation platforms to improve monitoring and diagnostics.
  • Champion Lean, TPM, 5S, and autonomous maintenance initiatives across the facility.
  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing maintenance team with clear accountability and strong cross-functional collaboration.
  • Partner with EHS and Operations to strengthen safety practices, documentation, and hazard mitigation.
  • Support alignment with ISO 9001 standards while helping advance readiness for IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3 expectations.

What You Bring

We are looking for a hands-on, strategic maintenance leader who can operate at both the floor level and the planning level. The right person will be comfortable rolling up their sleeves to solve urgent equipment issues while also building long-term systems that reduce risk, cost, and downtime.

Ideal qualifications include:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of engineering and maintenance experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Previous experience supporting the launch and coordination of new process integration in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong background in automotive, transportation, or complex manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 required; exposure to IATF 16949 and/or VDA 6.3 highly desirable.
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, automation, PLC/HMI diagnostics, SCADA systems, and controls platforms such as Rockwell or Siemens.
  • Strong experience with CMMS systems, capital planning, vendor coordination, and maintenance budgeting.
  • Advanced certifications such as CMRP, PMP, Six Sigma, or safety-related credentials are a plus.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and deliver measurable improvements.
