Were looking for a creative, hands-on engineer who wants to own this product line, push its evolution, and help define the future of automated shade systems on the water and trail.

Youll be the engineering lead for our next-generation powered bimini systemsresponsible for design, integration, testing, and continuous improvement. This is a role for builders, thinkers, and problem-solvers who want to see their ideas show up on boats and powersports vehicles across the country.
Essential Responsibilities
Design & Development
Design and develop mechanical and mechatronic systems, assemblies, and components, including mechanisms, fixtures, automation systems, and tooling.
Apply mechanical engineering principles in combination with electrical, pneumatic, and control elements to create integrated solutions.
Generate 3D models, detailed drawings, bills of materials, and fabrication specifications.
Develop and prototype custom parts using metal fabrication processes (welding, forming, machining, cutting, etc.).
Support new product development efforts, providing mechanical and mechatronic input throughout the design cycle.
Fabrication & Manufacturing Support
Work with internal and external fabrication teams to ensure manufacturability, proper material selection, and accuracy to specifications.
Provide technical support to production, maintenance, and engineering teams for equipment installation, troubleshooting, and improvement.
Optimize existing systems for reliability, durability, and performance through design modifications and component upgrades.
Create assembly procedures, test plans, and standard work instructions.
Systems Integration & Testing
Integrate sensors, actuators, motors, pneumatic systems, and control hardware into mechanical assemblies.
Conduct system testing, debugging, validation, and performance optimization.
Participate in root-cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action implementation for equipment failures or quality issues.
Coordinate with automation, electrical, and controls engineers to ensure seamless system functionality.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field.
Strong mechanical design background with hands-on understanding of metal fabrication processes (welding, machining, forming, cutting, tolerancing).
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, CREO, or similar).
Familiarity with basic electrical or controls concepts (PLC interfaces, sensors, actuators, wiring fundamentals).
Experience with automation systems, robotics, pneumatic systems, or electromechanical devices preferred.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, fabrication prints, and schematics.
Strong problem-solving skills with ability to diagnose mechanical and electromechanical issues.
Excellent communication, collaborative mindset, and ability to work cross-functionally.
Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Hands-on aptitude for prototyping, testing, and mechanical assembly.
