Our logistics robotics team at the BMW Group develops intelligent robots to support internal processes in our production plants. We offer you the opportunity to contribute in an innovative and international environment with flat hierarchies.

What awaits you?

  • You will support our logistics robotics team in conducting applied research in Physical AI for automating logistics parts-handling tasks.
  • Furthermore, you help to advance a cutting-edge pipeline for imitation learning based on vision-language-action models.
  • In addition, you curate diverse data sets for imitation learning using an industrial robotic setup.
  • Moreover, you will assist in running experiments on generalization, robustness, and reliability of trained models in various environments.
  • You also contribute to improving and maintaining software libraries for data acquisition, generation, and pre-processing.

What should you bring along?

  • Studies in computer science, software engineering, robotics or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge in Ubuntu, Python, ROS and Docker.
  • Experience in machine learning and related packages such as PyTorch.
  • Familiarity with imitation learning and vision-language-action models is a plus.
  • Understanding of software engineering principles, including test-driven development, code reviews and Git branching.
  • Ideally, demonstrated these qualifications in real-world projects.
  • Fluent English skills, German is advantageous.
