THE OPPORTUNITY:

Tundra is excited to announce an opportunity for an Instrumentation Technician, based out of theEstevan, SK office.

REPORTS TO: Instrumentation Coordinator

WHAT YOULL BE DOING:

  • Monitoring, benchmarking and evaluating technology and field instruments to ensure proper operation, continuous improvements and reliability.
  • Coordinating and effecting the monitoring, installation, service, and reconditioning of a variety of equipment, instruments, and control systems.
  • Performing repairs, installations, and any work required to set up, align or otherwise prepare for operation.
  • Performing operational checks, monitoring performance, troubleshoot and related maintenance to identify and diagnose process and equipment issues.
  • Optimizing performance of equipment by monitoring the effectiveness and making corrective recommendations regarding instrumentation and electronic performance problems
  • Coordinate and oversee field activities/installations being performed by other contractors.
  • Participate in upgrades of existing facilities (e.g. injection/disposal well conversions, battery improvements, etc.).
  • Other related duties as required.

**WHAT YOU NEED: **

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Instrumentation Technician Trade Certificate or Diploma is considered an asset
  • Valid class 5 drivers license
  • Oil and Gas experience considered an asset
  • Knowledge in the following areas:
    1. Instrument/electrical maintenance and repair
    2. PLCs and HMIs with ability to read programming code
    3. VFDs and related control wiring schemes
    4. Communication protocols and related wiring, TCP/IP, ControlNet, Modbus, CANBus
    5. Industrial Radio communications systems, namely in the 900Mhz and 5.2Ghz range

**OTHER DETAILS: **

  • This position is primarily field based, and the successful incumbent must be prepared to work in all weather conditions and remote locations

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Work under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Ability to workover time as necessary
