THE OPPORTUNITY:
Tundra is excited to announce an opportunity for an Instrumentation Technician, based out of theEstevan, SK office.
REPORTS TO: Instrumentation Coordinator
WHAT YOULL BE DOING:
- Monitoring, benchmarking and evaluating technology and field instruments to ensure proper operation, continuous improvements and reliability.
- Coordinating and effecting the monitoring, installation, service, and reconditioning of a variety of equipment, instruments, and control systems.
- Performing repairs, installations, and any work required to set up, align or otherwise prepare for operation.
- Performing operational checks, monitoring performance, troubleshoot and related maintenance to identify and diagnose process and equipment issues.
- Optimizing performance of equipment by monitoring the effectiveness and making corrective recommendations regarding instrumentation and electronic performance problems
- Coordinate and oversee field activities/installations being performed by other contractors.
- Participate in upgrades of existing facilities (e.g. injection/disposal well conversions, battery improvements, etc.).
- Other related duties as required.
**WHAT YOU NEED: **
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Instrumentation Technician Trade Certificate or Diploma is considered an asset
- Valid class 5 drivers license
- Oil and Gas experience considered an asset
- Knowledge in the following areas:
- Instrument/electrical maintenance and repair
- PLCs and HMIs with ability to read programming code
- VFDs and related control wiring schemes
- Communication protocols and related wiring, TCP/IP, ControlNet, Modbus, CANBus
- Industrial Radio communications systems, namely in the 900Mhz and 5.2Ghz range

**OTHER DETAILS: **
- This position is primarily field based, and the successful incumbent must be prepared to work in all weather conditions and remote locations
- Required to participate in the on-call schedule for emergency situations or after-hours breakdowns or repairs
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Work under pressure with tight deadlines
- Ability to workover time as necessary
