Job Description:

The position is responsible for the maintenance and off-shift support of all electrical, instrumentation and automation systems. Position will assist site in maximizing automation systems for the greatest performance. The position will provide technical training to maintenance and production personnel, to achieve world class performance.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Write PLC programming for new and existing equipment. Programming will also include VFD (AC/Servo Motors), DeviceNet, Profibus, CANbus and Ethernet IP devices.
  • Troubleshoots and performs repairs on plant-wide electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatics systems including but not limited to Electrical Power Distribution, Continuous Processes, and Communication networks.
  • Troubleshoots Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), Servo Motors, and other sophisticated equipment with a variety of test equipment
  • Installs machinery and equipment associated with manufacturing, facility, and plant systems
  • Modifies machinery components as needed, with prior approval
  • Performs specific maintenance tasks and procedures defined and scheduled.
  • Performs Instrumentation troubleshooting, repairs and calibrations
  • Participates in Preventative Maintenance activities and projects as directed
  • Provides assistance to all Maintenance and Production teams as necessarY
  • Must be a skilled electrician familiar with AC and DC. Low voltage circuits up to 600V AC.
  • Provide Developmental Assistance to co-workers and new hires.
  • Provide Technical Assistance on Permanent and Temporary Equipment Modifications
  • Provide Procurement Assistance for Projects and unplanned maintenance failures.
  • Oversee Project Scopes that may require Electrical and mechanical design of experiments.
  • Lead and Participate with Lean Efforts (5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, D.O.E., EIT and etc)
  • Utilize Preventable and Predictable Maintenance Measuring Tools.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education, Experience & Other Trainings:

  • Requires 5 years prior work experience in industrial maintenance, automation, instrumentation, PLC programming, HMI programming, and VFD programming.
  • Prior working knowledge of electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills including PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), Siemens, and VFDs
  • Advanced Personal Computer skills
