Job Summary
The Controls Specialist will work with various departments to improve, maintain and support control systems. The team member will act as a technical lead, and have hands on involvement in manufacturing information system, programming, editing, troubleshooting, maintaining PLC programs and data acquisition/formatting. Other functions such as working with the Control Engineer in software architecture design, development of software applications, and integration into enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Modify and deploy PLC (AB, Siemens and Rockwell Software) and HMI software (Ignition and Zenon/ Krones) to support operational changes and improvements on the plant floor.
- Organizes all plants automation documentations, such as PLC programs, machine manuals schematics, and HMI files.
- Work with vendors and internal personnel on projects related to automation solutions to increase uptime, efficiencies, improve plant operations, quality and reduce cost
- Learns the function of all line equipment and how they operate and communicate to be better equipped for fast troubleshooting.
- Provide occasional afterhours remote support for 24/7 operation.

Minimum Requirements
- Proven ability to create, edit, test, troubleshoot rungs of a program file
- Demonstrated ability to work on field devices such as temperature, pressure, and flow instrumentation, along with many different types of variable frequency drives
- Associate degree or Certificate in related field or a combination of education and experience totaling,
- 2 years experience in field or similar manufacturing environment
- 2 years experience managing projects (installation and improvement of automated production lines)
- Proficiency in Allen Bradley and Siemens programming
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application-Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Visio, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in related fieldor a combination of education and experience totaling 4 years experience in field or similar manufacturing environment
- 4 years experience of project management
- 1 2 years electrical engineer / or electrician troubleshooting and reading diagram experience
- High proficiency in Allen Bradley and Siemens programming
- Basic understanding of electronics, VFDs and industrial automation components
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
- Experience working with Krones equipment
- Experience in a bottling or similar beverage production work environment
