About this Job

About the role

As a Hardware Functional Safety Engineer at Coretura, you are responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and well‑structured hardware development across the full lifecycle. You enforce safety and development processes while actively driving the transformation of traditional hardware practices towards modern, code‑centric workflows.

You work at the intersection of hardware engineering, quality, and process leadership. In close collaboration with internal teams and Tier 1 suppliers, you modernize how safety and development artifacts are created, managed, and delivered. This includes enabling Git‑based traceability, improving collaboration, and supporting Coretura’s Everything as Code philosophy.

The role combines functional safety, process ownership, and continuous improvement, with direct influence on how hardware is developed, validated, and integrated.

Your responsibilities include

Functional safety and compliance
  • Enforce hardware safety and development processes in accordance with applicable regulatory frameworks

  • Own and maintain safety processes, requirements, and safety artifacts

  • Lead safety, validation, and quality reviews with proper documentation and follow‑up

  • Act as the primary contact for audits and safety assessments

  • Support teams in meeting compliance, quality, and safety expectations

Process transformation and modern workflows
  • Drive hardware development towards Git‑based, version‑controlled ways of working

  • Define and implement structured artifact management with clear traceability

  • Collaborate with Tier 1 suppliers to deliver artifacts in machine‑readable formats such as YAML, JSON, or structured markdown

  • Design processes that enable automation and CI/CD‑style integration for hardware artifacts

Execution and continuous improvement
  • Lead improvement initiatives across hardware teams and supplier interfaces

  • Drive status follow‑ups and ensure progress across safety and development activities

  • Support hardware teams with guidance on processes, compliance, and modern tooling

  • Ensure consistency, structure, and traceability throughout the hardware lifecycle

Who we’re looking for

We believe you are a structured and proactive engineer with a strong quality mindset. You enjoy creating clarity, driving processes, and taking ownership in complex development environments.

We think you have:

  • A BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field

  • Experience with hardware development processes in the automotive industry

  • Knowledge of functional safety standards, especially ISO 26262 for hardware

  • Experience working with safety documentation, reviews, and compliance

  • A structured way of working and strong follow‑up skills

  • Confidence collaborating across functions and with external partners

Why Coretura?

Coretura was founded by experienced leaders from the automotive and technology sectors, with a clear mission to accelerate innovation through world‑class engineering. We combine startup agility with long‑term stability and strong industrial backing.

At Coretura, you’ll find:

  • A key role with real influence over hardware safety and development processes

  • The opportunity to shape how safety and quality are built into future vehicles

  • Close collaboration with skilled engineers and leading automotive partners

  • A culture that values responsibility, structure, and continuous improvement

  • Work that directly impacts the safety and reliability of tomorrow’s vehicles

We’re excited to meet our next colleague. If this sounds like you, don’t hesitate to apply!
