We are seeking an experienced Hardware Engineering Manager to lead our hardware engineering team in designing, developing, and delivering innovative hardware products. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of hardware engineers, driving technical excellence, and ensuring successful product launches that meet quality, cost, and schedule requirements.

As a Hardware Engineering Manager, you will provide both technical leadership and people management, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You will work cross-functionally with software, manufacturing, supply chain, and product teams to deliver world-class hardware solutions.

Key job responsibilities - Hire, develop, and mentor top hardware engineering talent while conducting performance reviews and fostering an inclusive culture of innovation and collaboration - Define hardware architecture and design strategies, review designs and schematics, and ensure adherence to engineering best practices and design standards - Lead hardware development from concept through production launch, managing schedules, budgets, and resource allocation - Drive design reviews, validation testing, and failure analysis to ensure products meet performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements - Partner with product management, software, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality assurance teams to define requirements, ensure integration, and meet cost and producibility targets - Implement and optimize development processes, establish performance metrics and KPIs, and champion adoption of new tools and technologies - Manage relationships with component suppliers, contract manufacturers, and design partners, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and performance management Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Power Engineering, or a related field - 8+ years of experience in hardware engineering and product development - 3+ years of experience managing hardware engineering teams - Experience with hardware development tools - Proven track record of delivering hardware products from concept to production - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex hardware issues - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree or above in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering - Experience with DFx (Design for cost, test, manufacturing) - 10+ years of hardware engineering experience with 5+ years in management - Knowledge of manufacturing processes - Experience with regulatory compliance - Experience with robotics products - Strong understanding of supply chain management and cost optimization - Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) - Track record of mentoring and developing engineering talent - Experience working in fast-paced, innovative technology environments

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
