Job Description

This Graduate Project Engineer position is designed for motivated Emirati nationals seeking to build a career in the rail sector. The role will support the High‑Speed Rail (HSR) Systems Design Package by assisting senior engineers, coordinating technical activities, and contributing to design reviews, documentation, and project delivery tasks. The position offers structured development, mentorship, and exposure to world‑class rail engineering practices.

Qualifications

  • Support the HSR Systems design team across disciplines such as signalling, telecom, power supply, SCADA, control centres, and system integration.

  • Assist in preparing technical documents, design reports, meeting minutes, interface registers, and review comments.

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams to track progress, follow up on actions, and support resolution of technical issues.

  • Participate in design reviews, workshops, and stakeholder meetings, capturing observations and learning from senior engineers.

  • Support requirements management, verification & validation activities, and ensure traceability of system requirements.

  • Assist with project planning, schedule updates, and monitoring of deliverables.

  • Review contractor submissions under guidance, helping to ensure compliance with technical specifications and standards.

  • Contribute to risk assessments, safety reviews, and quality assurance processes as part of the systems engineering lifecycle.

  • Participate in testing and commissioning preparation activities, including documentation and data collection.

  • Engage in structured learning and development, including technical training, on‑the‑job learning, and mentorship from senior staff.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Industrial, or related).

  • Strong interest in rail systems, megaprojects, and engineering design.

  • Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and willingness to learn within a fast‑paced technical environment.

  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with engineering tools (AutoCAD, MATLAB, requirements management tools) is an advantage.

  • Strong academic performance and a proactive work ethic.
