Job Description
Functional Safety Engineer – Contribute to the Future of Sustainable Mobility
About the Role
We are looking for a Functional Safety Engineer to take a key role in ensuring compliance with safety standards for advanced automotive systems. You will work according to ISO 26262, focusing on defining, analyzing, and verifying safety requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include conducting safety analyses, developing safety concepts, reviewing requirements, and supporting the organization in implementing best practices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust safety solutions and contribute to continuous improvement of processes and methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage safety-related activities and timelines.
- Development and application of the current and future requirements for Functional Safety (ISO 26262) for automotive systems
- Identify and analyze risks (SIL, FMEA, HAZOP).
- Participate in safety meetings and technical discussions.
- Support process improvements and represent the team in safety forums.
- Collaborate with developers and experts to ensure compliance with standards.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Experience with application of ISO26262 & safety lifecycle
- Proven experience in functional safety engineering, preferably in automotive.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Excel, ISOgraph, MATLAB/System Composer, and Polarion.
- Background in software development and testing (e.g., Python, Simulink).
- Experience with test environments such as HIL rigs and vehicle testing.
- Familiarity with automotive development processes.
