Seagate has created a growth organization that will mature R&D concepts into revenue growth vehicles. The Memory Group is part of the Research & Development organization focused on qualifying emerging memories requiring customized low cost test platform development. Our “inhouse” built emerging memory tester needs FPGA system developer who can work with the team to develop drivers, implement protocols and improve emerging memory test capabilities.
About the role - you will:
Within the R&D organization, you will be part of Memory Test Group where you will be responsible for developing and integrating FPGA based test system to carry out memory tests.
About you:
- Self-motivated and demonstrated ability to adapt to a changing environment and learn new technology.
- Flexibility to operate under supervision and/or independently.
- Excellent team player
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Your experience includes:
- Robust knowledge of Electrical and Computer Engineering skills
- Proficiency with synthesizable RTL and verification with VHDL and/or Verilog/SystemVerilog
- Excellent programming skills with C/C++
- Linux kernel experience is a plus
- Current student, preferably in a PhD or Masters Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, and returning to classes in Fall 2026

Our Shakopee campus is located 25 minutes southwest of Minneapolis in a setting with a rural vibe – it overlooks a horse racing track and stables, yet it has great entertainment venues close by as well. The estimated base wage range for this position is $35 - $43/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Seagate offers comprehensive benefits to its eligible Interns, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, and participation in the employee stock purchase plan. Seagate also offers Interns 12 paid holidays and a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave. The benefits for this position are based on a 24 to 40-hour-per-week schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location and tenure with the Company.
