Your Mission: YOU will provide technical resolution to defects and issues on the wind turbines in operation. This role requires general understanding of wind turbines, and specific domain knowledge of pitch and electrical systems. Goal of the role is to bring availability levels of the fleet to the contractually agreed values and to minimize Return to Service time.
This position is part of the newly established OFW Fleet Performance Management team.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure wind farm availability targets are met by supporting field teams and restoring tripped turbines quickly.
- Handle turbine trips that remain unresolved after the ROC’s (Remote Operating Center) initial troubleshooting.
- Perform diagnosis, failure analysis, and performance monitoring of GE turbines, with focus on pitch and electrical systems.
- Create clear Work Instructions for Field Technicians when remote restarts are not possible, enabling first‑visit resolution.
- Drive repair activities to completion, coordinating with Sourcing, Projects, and maintaining a detailed tracker of materials and implementation dates.
- Escalate recurring high‑impact issues to Engineering and support RCAs (Root Cause Analysis) with accurate technical information.
- Lead analysis and continuous improvement of operating procedures and tools used by ROC staff and Field Technicians.
Your Profile:
- Certified technician or engineering degree.
- Experience in the wind turbine technical support area, in field support or in an engineering domain.
- Deep understanding of wind turbine technology and operation.
- Good domain knowledge of pitch & electrical systems technology. Ability to develop further knowledge in relation to own work scope.
- Analytical skills and ability to understand causal factors.
- Ability to extract and analyse SCADA data and trenders coming from the turbine.
- Availability for travelling; up to 10% nationally & internationally
- Proactive mindset and a clear sense of urgency.
- Proven interpersonal skills and ability to explain complex problems to others.
