The Fleet Operations Robot Technician (AKA: Robot Wrangler) is responsible for the day-to-day physical health, readiness, and availability of a humanoid robot fleet. This role ensures robots are clean, charged, configured, and in the right place at the right time so research, testing, and development work can proceed without unnecessary delays.
Robot Wranglers are the frontline operators of fleet readiness. They perform routine checks, detect early signs of issues, and ensure accurate handoff to technical leads when problems arise. This role requires strong attention to detail, operational discipline, and comfort working hands-on with complex robotic systems in a fast-paced lab environment.

Ensure robots are powered, charged, cleaned, and staged according to daily schedules.
Verify correct hardware configuration, accessories, and setup for planned activities.
Identify visible wear, damage, or abnormal behavior and escalate promptly.
Daily Operations & Logistics
Stage robots for experiments, testing, demos, and deployments.
Execute standard operating procedures consistently and reliably.
Track robot location, assignment, and availability throughout the day.
Coordinate robot handoffs between teams and shifts to ensure continuity.
Maintain organized fleet areas, charging stations, tools, and accessories.
Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives as the fleet scales.
Issue Detection & Escalation
Serve as the first observer for robot issues during handling, setup, or operation.
Log issues accurately in work tracking systems with clear descriptions and context.
Escalate issues to Robot Captains or Fleet Operations leadership according to defined procedures.
Documentation & System Updates
Update fleet status, readiness, and location in tracking systems.
Log health checks, incidents, and handoffs to maintain fleet visibility.
Follow standardized operating procedures for startups, shutdowns, and shift transitions.
Safety & Compliance
Follow and reinforce safety protocols when working around high-energy or mobile robotic systems.
Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
Stop work and escalate immediately if unsafe conditions are observed.

1–4 years of experience in a technical operations/service, lab support, manufacturing, or field support role.
Experience working with mechanical, electrical, or robotic systems preferred.
Prior experience in lab, test, or production environments is a plus.
Experience with lean manufacturing and 5S/6S preferred.
