Field Service Engineer

Accountabilities:

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for installing, commissioning, supporting, and optimizing complex industrial equipment while ensuring safety, quality, and customer success. The role requires strong technical knowledge, independent problem-solving, and the ability to lead projects in dynamic environments.

• Install, commission, and validate new systems according to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
• Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control systems.
• Diagnose and rebuild hydraulic components, including pumps, valves, intensifiers, and high-pressure fluid systems.
• Troubleshoot centrifugal pumps, filtration systems, cooling systems, pneumatic systems, and related equipment.
• Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, hydraulic drawings, and PLC ladder logic documentation.
• Support PLC, HMI, SCADA, and industrial control system installation and troubleshooting.
• Lead onsite project activities involving customer teams, contractors, crane operations, rigging, electrical installation, and plumbing.
• Provide customer and internal team training through classroom sessions and hands-on demonstrations.
• Maintain project documentation, reporting, quality records, and administrative requirements.
• Deliver remote technical support to customers and internal teams when needed.
• Build strong customer relationships through professional communication and effective service delivery.
• Promote workplace safety and ensure compliance with site and company safety requirements.
• Support engineering teams and other business areas with technical expertise and field knowledge.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced field service professional with strong electro-mechanical expertise and the ability to manage complex industrial equipment installations. This role requires technical proficiency, adaptability, and willingness to travel extensively.

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of technical education and professional experience.
• 3+ years of experience working in a Field Service Technician or Field Service Engineer capacity.
• Experience installing, commissioning, and supporting large-scale capital equipment.
• Strong knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control technologies.
• Experience working with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial automation environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot high-pressure hydraulic systems and complex fluid handling equipment.
• Experience reading and interpreting hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical schematics.
• Familiarity with ultra-high-pressure systems, water jet cutting technology, or similar equipment is preferred.
• Previous experience in food processing environments is a plus.
• Strong project coordination skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and lead onsite activities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong customer-facing abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and web-based reporting/database systems.
• Ability to use measurement tools, torque equipment, and technical diagnostic instruments.
• Valid driver’s license and valid passport required.
• Willingness to travel approximately 70–90%, including domestic and international travel.
