This position reports to:

Service Team Leader

In this position, you will have the opportunity to carry out service work of low to medium complexity on Electric Motors in accordance with work instructions and ABB’s standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. Each day, you will plan and execute work with a “first-time-right” approach with customers. You will also demonstrate your expertise by showing a clear understanding of urgency and ownership in your area of responsibility.

The work model for this position is: onsite

This role contributes to the Motion Service business area in the LATAM market.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the customer (on-site) to identify opportunities to improve their operations and eliminate pain points.

  • Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and carrying out analysis either remotely or on-site for low- and medium-voltage drives, including the execution of scheduled maintenance activities.

  • Preparing material lists required for service activities and ensuring that all materials, spare parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality.

  • Troubleshooting equipment or process failures, requesting proactive corrective actions, and making recommendations to prevent recurrence.

Qualifications for the role

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • At least 3–5 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer or Service Engineer.

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience working with multi-brand motors, generators, pumps, and Low- and Medium-Voltage motors. Experience with synchronous motors is highly desirable.

  • Proven experience performing maintenance activities at L1, L2, L3, and L4 levels, with relevant maintenance certifications.

  • Experience in maintenance management and maintenance planning.

  • Intermediate level of English.

  • Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time.

  • You have a valid driver's license.

  • Passion for problem-solving, teamwork, and a proactive mindset.
