Field Engineer (Drone and Counter-Drone Systems)

About the role

We are building our first Testing Range to rapidly validate and improve our counter-UAS and surveillance systems. We are hiring the founding members of this team, people with hands-on experience, disciplined, and excited to work directly with drones, and sensors, in the field.

You will help build our testing capability enabling fast product iteration and ensuring that our cUAS systems are safe, reliable, and deployment-ready.

In this role you will get to

• Set up and maintain a small cUAS test range (equipment, layout, safety).

• Plan and execute scenarios for detection, tracking, navigation, interception, and EW.

• Operate drones and test platforms during field trials.

• Collect logs, telemetry, and video; ensure data accuracy and completeness.

• Provide clear test reports and feedback to engineering teams.

• Maintain safety procedures, checklists, and range readiness.

• Travel and coordinate relevant logistics accordingly.

What previous experience would make you successful in this job

• Experience with drones, robotics, UAS operations, or field testing.

  • We can also support getting any proper pilot licenses required.

• Hands-on troubleshooting of hardware/software issues.

• Comfortable working outdoors and managing equipment.

• Strong attention to detail and reliability in documentation.

• Very strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have:

• UAS pilot certifications

• cUAS or military testing experience

• RF/EW familiarity

• data analysis tools (Python/ROS/log viewers).
