About the role

You are the engineer who sits with the customer. You own the technical relationship with Westmag’s drone OEM customers: design integration, duty-cycle changes, application engineering, and end-of-line validation correlation. You report to the Commercial Team and partner closely with Motor Design.

What you'll own

  • The technical relationship with Westmag's drone OEM customers.

  • Spec interpretation, application-engineering questions, duty-cycle and thermal trade-offs.

  • Customer-witnessed test programs for new motor variants, correlated against Westmag's end-of-line validation data.

  • Serve as the first response for field issues, including triage, escalation to design or quality, and customer follow-through.

  • Engineering voice for early-stage technical engagements with prospective drone OEMs (BD calls, technical due diligence).

  • App-note and reference-design content for the drone-motor product family.

Required qualifications

  • BSEE, BSME, or equivalent technical degree.

  • 5+ years field/applications engineering or customer-engineering experience at a motor, sensor, drive, or actuator company.

  • Strong fundamentals in electric-motor application (KV, torque, thermal, efficiency curves).

  • Familiarity with motor control, VFD, or inverter integration at the customer-system level.

  • Customer-facing confidence, written and verbal, at the engineer-to-engineer level.

  • Willingness to spend significant time on customer sites (up to 40% travel).

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred qualifications

  • Direct experience supporting drone, robotics, or aerospace OEM customers.

  • Background combining FAE work with end-of-line / dynamometer test correlation.

  • Experience authoring application notes and technical white papers.

Compensation

Total compensation is base salary plus equity. Specifics for your situation are discussed during the interview process.

Benefits

Full-time employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off.

Work authorization

You must be authorized to work in the United States.

At-will employment
