About this Job
This position supports the efforts of the Engineering department by writing and compiling code bases for custom controllers for use in electromechanical machinery for front-end and back-end environments. The position also supports the Engineering department by developing GUIs (Graphical User Interfaces) and programs for PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
Roles/Responsibilities:
- Assist with the writing of front-end and back-end code for custom controllers under guidance of senior engineers.
- Assists the senior engineer testing of code releases in equipment in R&D lab environment
- Assists with providing technical input to troubleshoot issues with fielded machines
- Assists with the revision of code to correct operating deficiencies
- Maintains revision control of code releases
- Assists senior engineer with updating PLC programming, HMI programming, and Drives documentation.
Qualifications:
Must be actively enrolled in an accredited engineering degree program with a minimum GPA of 3.0
An Electrical Engineering degree is preferred, though students pursuing an Applied Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Systems Engineering will also be considered.
Experience with programming custom controllers and working in a lab environment
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
