  • Position Summary
  • CAMACO is seeking an Engineering Controls Technician to support automated manufacturing equipment in a high-volume automotive production environment. This role focuses on troubleshooting PLC-controlled systems, robotic cells, and electrical controls to minimize downtime and improve system reliability.
  • The Controls Technician works closely with Maintenance, Engineering, and Production teams to ensure automation systems operate safely and efficiently.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment (Allen-Bradley preferred)
  • Support robotic welding cells (Fanuc preferred)
  • Diagnose electrical, sensor, and control system issues
  • Assist with HMI updates and control modifications
  • Support preventive maintenance and downtime reduction efforts
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder logic
  • Assist with new equipment installation and startup
  • Maintain accurate documentation of changes and repairs
  • Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years experience in automated manufacturing or industrial maintenance
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Basic PLC troubleshooting experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Work Environment
  • 300,000 sq ft automated automotive manufacturing facility
  • 160+ robotic welding cells
  • Stamping presses and tube mills
  • Hands-on, team-oriented production environment
