About this Job
Veriphi is an exciting medical device company, whose mission is to help save lives by preventing intravenous medication error. The company has developed a revolutionary analyser that uses laser spectroscopy, AI, and cloud computing to verify the identity and concentration of intravenous (IV) drugs. By preventing errors and improving governance around medication delivery, Veriphi will not only save lives, but also reduce healthcare costs.
As a member of our team, you will have a hands-on role in the design, development, and validation of innovative drug verification solutions.
On a day-to day basis you could be:
- Assembling electronic, mechanical, and optical systems
- Debugging assemblies and sub-assemblies to discover issue root cause
- Testing various components and sub-assemblies which make up the overall solution
- Designing new or improving existing electronic, mechanical, and optical systems
- Installation, troubleshooting, and service of analysers with new hospital customers
- Working on continuous improvements to our in-house automated testing capabilities
- Liaising with third parties – manufacturers, suppliers, consultants
- Managing the sourcing, purchasing and stock management of electronic, mechanical, and optical components
- Designing mechanical parts and printing them on our in-house 3D printers
- Being involved with providing user experience feedback on Veriphi’s product capabilities, features, and solutions
REQUIREMENTS
You will have...
- Previous experience in electronic and mechanical systems assembly
- Skilled in soldering (fine pitch connecters, QFN footprint, etc.)
- Skilled in debugging electronic circuit boards
- Experience with one or more EDA software tools (Altium, PADS or Cadence)
- Knowledge of electronics theory (digital, analogue), circuit principles, schematic design, and board layout
- Experience with microcontroller coding (in C), communication channels/protocols like I2C, SPI, etc., and debugging methods
- Experience with using test equipment (Oscilloscopes, signal generators, etc.)
- Good technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail, and ability to communicate that detail to others
- Good verbal and written communication skills and able to build effective relationships
- Microsoft Office Outlook, Word; and Excel to an intermediate level
- Confidence to speak up with ideas and issues and be a team player
- Degree or other similar qualification in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, or similar
- Be entitled to work full time in NZ
- A passion for technology
- A hands-on practical approach to back up your theoretical knowledge
It would also be good if you had...
- Firmware development experience in RTOS and driver design
- Experience in EMC test and familiar with some of the testing standards
- Understand reliability and environmental testing with experience in using temperature chambers, etc.
- A serious interest in User Interaction and Customer Experience
- Have an interest in the medical technology industry
