About this Job

About the role

As Electronics Engineering Team Lead, you will take end‑to‑end responsibility for the design, development, integration, and testing of electronic hardware for UAV platforms and ground stations. You will lead the definition of electronic system architectures and oversee the implementation from concept through qualification and production readiness. In this role, you will work hands‑on and strategically, coordinating internal engineering efforts as well as managing development activities with external partners and suppliers. You will build and develop a small but strong electronics engineering team, establish robust design and quality standards, and ensure that all electronic systems meet technical, operational, and regulatory requirements. While direct aviation experience is not mandatory, a proven track record with compliant (CE‑marked) electronic products is essential.

Your responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Team Development

  • Build, lead, and mentor a small electronics engineering team covering the required hardware disciplines
  • Act as the primary technical authority for electronics within the organization
  • Define roles, responsibilities, and development processes within the electronics domain
  • Ensure high engineering quality, ownership, and clarity of responsibilities across the team

System Architecture & Hardware Design

  • Define and own the electronic system architecture for UAVs and ground systems, including compute, power, communication, and sensor interfaces
  • Translate system and product requirements into robust electronic designs
  • Oversee schematic design, PCB layout, component selection, and design for manufacturability
  • Ensure proper consideration of reliability, thermal behavior, EMC, power integrity, and lifecycle aspects

External Partners & Supply Chain

  • Select, manage, and technically guide external development partners and suppliers
  • Review and approve partner designs, documentation, and test results
  • Ensure alignment between in‑house standards and external development work
  • Support sourcing, supplier qualification, and long‑term component strategy

Integration, Testing & Quality

  • Own and drive hardware integration and verification, from bring‑up to system-level testing
  • Define and oversee hardware test concepts, including functional testing, environmental testing, and compliance testing
  • Ensure high-quality documentation covering design, testing, and approvals
  • Take responsibility for regulatory readiness, including CE conformity and related standards

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with:
    • Software engineering (embedded, robotics, cloud)
    • Systems engineering
    • Mechanical design
    • Product management
  • Ensure coherent end‑to‑end system behavior across hardware and software boundaries
  • Contribute to system trade‑offs and technical decision-making at product level

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong professional experience in electronic hardware development for complex products
  • Proven track record delivering certified electronic products (e.g. CE‑marked devices)
  • Solid experience with:
    • System architecture and electronic design
    • Schematic capture and PCB development
    • Hardware bring‑up, debugging, and validation
  • Experience leading or mentoring engineers, or acting as technical lead
  • Experience working with external development partners and suppliers
  • Structured, quality‑driven working style with a strong sense of ownership
  • Fluency in English and strong technical communication skills

Strong Plus

  • Experience with electronics for UAVs, robotics, industrial systems, or communication devices
  • Familiarity with:
    • Power electronics and battery‑powered systems
    • High‑speed interfaces and compute platforms
    • RF, communication, or sensor‑heavy systems
  • Experience working in regulated or safety‑relevant environments
  • Exposure to production ramp‑up and lifecycle support

What we offer

  • End‑to‑end ownership of all electronic hardware across UAVs and ground systems
  • Strong influence on product architecture and quality
  • Combination of hands‑on technical depth and leadership responsibility
  • Close collaboration with software, systems engineering, and external partners
